The hip joint is at once one of the most powerful and potentially one of the most mobile joints in the human body, relying on a fine balance of strength and flexibility for proper support and function. The practice of Yoga places a great emphasis on both ‘opening’ and strengthening the hip. But what exactly does this mean and how do we do it? Through discussion, practice and “experiential anatomy”, this workshop will explain the intelligent and conscious use of the hip and the way in which yoga postures have been designed to heal, strengthen and mobilize this important joint. Bring any questions and or challenges you may be facing and we’ll make anatomy and alignment fun while breaking through the obstacles, physical and otherwise, that may be holding your yoga practice back! Registration Required. Only 15 spots available. When: Sunday July 18th, 2010 @ 12:30-3:30pm Where: Yogacara 2460 Trafalgar St (@ W Broadway) Cost: $49 Register Now through Yogacara's website |
